Macro & MikroMak Lenses - all you need to know

Cinematographers often doubt whether macro primes exist which defy traditional depth of field rules, but when they first see MikroMaks in action, they soon understand!

In 2024, I invited 30 curious filmmakers to test MikroMak primes and this is an article to show their results.

Our aim was to share our collaborative exploration to demonstrate their unique capabilities with input from DPs.

Super Slo Mo Freefly Ember now with 4TB Removable Media

Until now, the Ember Super Slo Mo camera could only record to its internal 4TB store. The new media expansion pack has transformed it into a more versatile and powerful acquisition tool featuring optional removable 4TB SSDs.

This module adds an HD-SDI output and prerecord function plus swappable SSDs, which effectively allow near continuous 800fps 5K capture without storage limits.

VMI 2024 Client Survey - best ever results

In January 2025, our 17th annual client survey saw 55 clients rate VMI 4.87 for customer service—our highest ever, with a 97% approval rating.

We are super-proud that this marks the ninth consecutive year that we have scored 4.7 or higher.

Just Arrived: Evoke 1200B

1200W Bi-Colour LED

We have stocked the daylight Nanlux fixtures since they came out and now extended our range to include the bi-colour version. Light output approaches 1.8KW MSR and supplied with monster fresnels, yet still only draws 1.2KW.

VMI now on BlueSky and no longer on X

Recognising X's continued lurch to the right, VMI has taken the decision to remove itself from X and has now opened a BlueSky account to post to in the future:
