TLS Vacancy: Lens Assembly / Lens Servicing Technician

GTC Patron True Lens Services (TLS) has a vacancy for a TLS Lens Assembly / Lens Servicing Technician, a fantastic opportunity to become a true lens guru.

This role is suited to an enthusiastic, innovative, confident team player with assembly experience, an understanding of how a lens/optical unit works, and proven experience of working with small specialist components. 

Within this quality focused role, you will be required to remove optical units from their housing and build them into the new mechanics. You will be involved in calibrating the lens and precisely aligning and marking the focus and iris scales, in preparation for the engraving process. On the role training will be given as you learn the more intricate parts of this specialist technology. 

A passion and interest in photography, cinematography and the filming industry will allow you to fully immerse yourself in the company’s forward-thinking lens innovation, although this is not a necessity. 

To thrive in this role, you must have a calm and patient approach, ideally with experience of working with precision on specialist and delicate components.  Attention to detail is paramount as well as the ability to work as a team and on your own initiative. 

Key Responsibilities to include:

  • Carefully pick and prepare all components
  • Fit and assemble the new mechanical parts 
  • Precisely align and mark the new mechanical housing
  • Check and calibrate the test equipment is within specification
  • Disassembly of lens mechanical system
  • Servicing of optical units
  • Mark up the new mechanics and check test equipment is within specification
  • Other duties as specified by your manager.
