GTC launches all new Television Academy

The Guild of Television Camera Professionals (GTC) is proud to announce the re-launch of the GTC Television Academy, a pioneering initiative designed to bridge the gap between media education and the film and television industry. Conceived by GTC council member Roger Richards, the Academy returns in 2025 with an expanded and dynamic program to support and inspire the next generation of television professionals.

Through the newly restructured GTC Television Academy, GTC Television Academy Online, and GTC Television Academy Online Careers Lunches, students will gain invaluable access to experienced professionals, industry insights, and networking opportunities to help them transition seamlessly from education to employment.

The GTC Television Academy

The GTC Television Academy will tour universities across the UK, delivering full-day events featuring expert-led seminars, masterclasses, and interactive Q&A sessions. These in-person events will cover various aspects of television production, including live, scripted, and unscripted formats, providing students with first-hand industry knowledge and the chance to engage directly with leading professionals.

The GTC Television Academy Online

To complement the in-person events, the GTC Television Academy Online will offer an ongoing series of virtual masterclasses. Open to participants worldwide, these sessions will allow aspiring professionals to learn from the very experts behind today’s most acclaimed television shows and films.  Recordings will be available for GTC members at www.gtc.tv.

The GTC Television Academy Online Careers Lunches

Additionally, the GTC Television Academy Online Careers Lunches will provide exclusive networking opportunities for students. These informal online sessions will connect students with industry professionals, offering career guidance, insider tips, and a safe space to ask any and all questions.
