Following the Sony FX5 announcement, GTC Patron Bright Tangerine (UK) launches a new range of Sony FX5 accessories, ranging from full 15mm LWS rigs to minimalist cage systems – complementing the new compact cine camera – as well as an all-new OpenRig™ ecosystem.
Open Rigging
The OpenRig™ system expands Bright Tangerine’s previous universal accessories. The new OpenRig™ Rail is a universal base, with Manfrotto and DJI mounting capabilities on the base and an innovative NATO rail system on top. Filmmakers can mount camera accessories directly to this baseplate alternative, taking the strain off the camera body.
Clean or Complex
The OpenRig™ system is designed to be an all-in-one solution for rigging: one system, learned once. The range works across multiple industry-standard formats without locking filmmakers into one ecosystem; with universal accessories such as 15mm LWS rod brackets, lens supports, and a new Halo Universal Cage ready at launch.
FX5 Freedom
Though the OpenRig™ system is universal, Bright Tangerine also has a line of bespoke FX5 accessories that conform to the low-profile camera body. Multiple Top Plate options allow filmmakers to use the detachable EVF or XLR handle without compromising on rigging. The side and bottom of the camera have dedicated plates that maximise accessory mounting options whilst minimising the FX5 footprint. Cinematic shooters can use the LeftField Mini Kit for a complete and accurate 15mm LWS setup, or can strip the rig back to a clean wraparound cage.

The Sony FX5 range is available to pre-order now from Bright Tangerine, with shipping expected to align with the Sony FX5 release date. The OpenRig™ system is also available to pre-order with an initial series of add-ons – with more to be released shortly after.
